As activities build up to the Obafemi Awolowo University OAU Students’ Union Election, aspirants across federal faculties of the institution have shown interest in the apex office of the Great Ife Students’ Union.
One of the prominent names on the OAU campus is “EXCEPTIONAL”, Abidogun Ayomide Theophilus who has been passionate about Leadership and has been in the capacity-development space for over five years.

Abidogun Ayomide Theophilus is a penultimate Student of Political Science, Obafemi Awolowo University. He is a Kingdom-driven Leader, Serial Volunteer, Public Speaker, and Fashion Designer.
He strongly believes that the presence of bad leadership systems and structures at all levels is one major problem confronting Nigeria and the African continent as a whole. This however drives him to advocate for good leadership at all levels.
An inspiration to many, he desires to see a world that is characterized by solidarity irrespective of race, age or religion.
His passion for being resourceful has been leading him to attend training, conferences, and seminars, virtually and physically; locally and internationally.
He has attended conferences and trainings in different parts of the country from Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, and other southwestern states.
As a returning first-year political science student at OAU, he made the decision to run for election as one of his class’s representatives at the departmental level, winning 100 of the 103 total votes cast.
He later served his class twice (for two sessions) as an elected representative and rose to the positions of clerk and sergeant-at-arm for the Hallowed Chamber.
By the end of 2019, he had been named the most influential student in his class, had begun to invest in himself as the leader this country needs, and had established long-lasting connections with key figures in several businesses.

In the same year 2019, 398 mentees from 32 different African nations were chosen for the ACI Cohort 1, 2020, including Abidogun.
On his 18th birthday, he launched the men’s clothing line EXCEPTIONAL, which produces superbly crafted dresses.
He was chosen as a Fellow of the United Nations’Millennium Campus Fellowship in 2021, where 2000+ were chosen from more than 120 campuses worldwide.
He started a social impact training during the program called “Going into the Industrial Street,” which aims to prepare newcomers for various industries, particularly the corporate world.

The training had world performance Coach and Member of the Forbes Coaches Council; Coach Abiola Champ Salami, Executive Director of the West African Leadership Centre, Joshua Owoyomi and so on, as Speakers.
In September 2021, he was elected as a Representative of his faculty (Social Sciences constituency) at the Great Ife Students Representatives Council, OAU.
In 2023, he met with his long-time South African role model who is a Venture Capitalist, Leader, and Public Speaker; VUSI THEMBEKWAYO.
He was selected as part of the successful Applicants for the School of Purpose and Influence by Dr. Samuel Ekundayo; and attended the Legacy Conference by Dr Niyi Borire which had John C. Maxwell as a Speaker.
He also got into the VT Club 100 (Vusi Thembekwayo Club 100 of Great Leaders around the world).
