JAMB Issues Warning to Candidates as UTME Begins Friday

The apex Nigerian examination body, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disclosed that JAMB Registration 2024 is set to commence on Monday 15 January 2024.

JAMB stated that Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry students would now be able to get the JAMB Form 2024/2025 academic session.

The information is for prospective Jamb students in the country as well as foreign candidates who wish to gain admission into the country’s institutions of learning.

The JAMB form 2024 can be accessed online and available at the JAMB website.

According to the JAMB examination body, the JAMB Registration 2024 is set to end on Wednesday, 21 February 2024.

The JAMB Direct Entry (DE) Registration is also set to commence on Monday, March 18, and end on Friday, April 26.

 Requirements for JAMB Registration 2024

  1. O’Level result

Candidates seeking admission into Nigerian Tertiary institutions must have at least five (5) Credit passes in relevant subjects to their Choice of course including English Language. For Direct Entry, Candidates must possess an ND, OND, NCE, or their equivalent certificate.

  1. NIN (National Identification Number)

One of the paramount requirements of JAMB Registration 2024 is candidates’ unique National identification number. In case candidates have forgotten or lost their NIN, the USSD code *346# should be dialed from the phone number used to register the NIN to retrieve the NIN.

  1. Registration of Profile

Using this format: (Surname First-Name Middle-Name), candidates are to register their profile (and get a profile code) by sending an SMS to 55019.

Wait for some minutes (less than five minutes) as you receive a 10-digit code on the same phone number to use to complete your registration.

The phone number used for the profile code generation becomes the number to be used for all communications related to the 2024 JAMB application. It cannot be used by another candidate.

  1. JAMB Pin

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board examination pin for the registration is pegged around Six Thousand or Seven Thousand Naira (N 6,000 or N 7,000) and an additional charge of N700 is to be charged at the Computer Based Center for the jamb reading text.

Requirements for JAMB 2024 Registration at CBT Centers

Candidates are to proceed to any JAMB-accredited computer-based centers for completion of registration. The JAMB PIN previously generated automatically brings the details of the candidates. At the CBT center, ensure you do the following.

  • Present the already generated JAMB PIN.
  • Provide all necessary data. – State of Origin, Local Government, Gender, NIN, Date of Birth, Nationality, email address, etc.
  • For candidates not using awaiting results, grades of O’Level results should be supplied with dates.
  • The choice of course and discipline.
  • All required documents must be uploaded.
  • For Direct Entry Registration, It is important to provide the previous JAMB registration number used to gain admission to previous institutions.
  • Supply UTME subjects. (Take cognizance of the relevance of the subjects to your choice of course.)
  • Choose the town and center of the examination.
  • Biometric Capturing.
  • Face Capture
  • Take time to review the information supplied before submission.
  • The proof of registration which is the JAMB slip would be printed at the end of registration.
  • Collect the CD and JAMB reading text at the end of registration.

NOTE: JAMB Registration 2024 can only be done at JAMB-accredited centers and not in cybercafé. Such registrations done in unaccredited centers are invalid.

Cost of JAMB Form

For the JAMB form for UTME and DE Candidates, the cost of registration is as follows

UTME Application Fee – 3,500

Compulsory Reading Textbook – FREE

CBT (Examination) Service Charge – 1,500

Registration Centre Service Charge – 700

Bank Charges – 500

CBT Centre Service Charge for Mock – 1,500

Grand Total with Mock – 7,700

Grand Total without Mock – 6,200

Also, foreign centers charge Thirty United States Dollars for the 2024 JAMB Registration.
