Ministry of Youth & Sports Partner with NALS for the Multi-Day “Catch Them Youngs” Skills Acquisition Program.
The NALS Training program, a highly anticipated skills acquisition event, is set to launch in Lanlate, bringing a renewed focus on youth empowerment and entrepreneurship. The National Association of Lanlate Students (NALS), in robust collaboration with the Oyo State Ministry of Youth and Sports, has finalized plans for the multi-day event, now titled the “Catch Them Youngs” Training. The training is scheduled to run from December 21 to December 24, 2025, at the Lanlate Town Hall, with sessions commencing at 9:00 AM daily.
Bridging the Skill Gap: Practical Entrepreneurship
This comprehensive program is a strategic intervention aimed at bridging the employment gap by equipping young participants with marketable vocational and digital skills. The training is completely free and is intended to foster self-reliance, giving participants the tools needed to establish or enhance their own micro-businesses immediately.

Expanded Curriculum Includes Digital and Cultural Skills
The expanded curriculum includes a blend of practical trades and essential digital arts, giving students a wide array of options for economic empowerment:
Vocational Arts: Detailed, hands-on sessions in Cake Making, Soap Making, Bag Making, and the cultural skill of Gele Tying.
Digital Skills: Essential introductory courses in Graphics Design and Product Design, crucial for branding and marketing in the modern marketplace.
High-Level Support for Grassroots Development
The initiative is strongly championed by Hon. Wasilat Adegoke Adefemi, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Oyo State. Hon. Adegoke’s active involvement underscores the government’s recognition of the role that practical skills play in sustainable youth development and reflects her personal commitment to unlocking the potential of the youth in her hometown.
