The Student Energy Tech Ibadan chapter has unveiled technology innovations that are aimed at sustainability and innovation among students as well as empowering rural communities with sustainable energy solutions.
The chapter which has its headquarters in Vancouver Canada, unveiled the “Switch” event and “Spark” initiative at the First Technical University, Ibadan on Monday, June 3, 2024.
This was contained in a press release signed by the chapter president of the organization, Moses Alalade.
According to him, the “Switch” event serves as a dynamic platform where students can delve into the clean energy space, network with peers, and gain valuable professional insights.
Alalade, who founded the “switch” program says it serves as a dynamic weekly event where students can delve into the clean energy space, network and gain valuable professional insights among other benefits incorporated in the program.
He added that the aim is also to enhance students’ knowledge and provide them with the leverage needed for their future careers in the energy sector.
President Moses Alalade, who spearheaded the launch, emphasized the significance of the event in fostering a culture of sustainability and innovation among students.
“Switch is not just an event; it’s a movement towards a cleaner, more sustainable future,” Alalade stated.
Another innovation of the Student Energy Tech, Ibadan Chapter is the “Spark initiative” aimed at bringing clean renewable energy solutions to rural communities.
The vice president of the association, Sultan Atanda noted that the initiative is born through rigorous efforts put in place by the organization.
Atanda also acknowledged President Alalade’s efforts to secure partnerships with international organisations, reinforcing the chapter’s commitment to global standards and impactful community service.
The pioneer secretary general of the association, Com Michael expressed admiration to the efforts nad commended the dedication and efforts of the executives. He wished them success in the endeavors.
The president, Moses Alalade stated that “with initiatives like “Switch” and “Spark,” the Student Energy Tech-Ibadan Chapter is poised to make significant contributions to the sustainable energy sector.
“These programs not only educate and empower students but also extend the benefits of clean energy to underserved communities.”
Under the leadership of Moses Alalade, the current administration has also launched a new website for the chapter, facilitating easy membership sign-ups and providing a central hub for information and resources.
