The Federation of Ibarapa Students Union, FIBSA, has elected Comrade Taderi Adeoluwa as the Executive President of the association and Comrade Alawode Olugbenga as the President of the Senate Arm.
The FIBSA election 2024, which was conducted by the Federation of Ibarapa Students Association Electoral Committee (FIBSAEC), chaired by Comrade Atilola Mathew, was held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, in African Basic School, Ayete.
Taderi Olaoluwa, who hails from Lanlate, defeated his rival, Adebisi Adebare, from Eruwa, after pulling 80 percent of the vote cast for the presidency position.
For the Senate President position, Alawode Olugbenga contested unopposed and won 11 of the 15 total votes cast.
In a chat with Campusnews360 shortly after the declaration of the winners of the election, the President Elect, Comrade Taderi, said his emergence as president is a testament to the trust and confidence placed in him by the Ibarapa student populace and stakeholders.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to every students/delegates who participated in the electioneering process, demonstrating their commitment to shaping the future of our association. The overwhelming support received is a powerful motivation to uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and inclusivity.
“I express my sincere appreciation to the stakeholders for their unwavering support and belief in our vision for positive change. Together, we will work towards fostering an environment that nurtures unity, development, and academic excellence.” He said.
Taderi, who described the election as free and impartial, appreciated the dedication of electoral members, who have played crucial roles in ensuring a democratic process that reflects the will of the student body.
He expressed his readiness to deliver good governance as the president of the association. “We pledge to prioritize the needs of the student community, championing initiatives that enhance the overall educational experience.

Comrade Taderi Adeoluwa Joseph is a Lanlate indigene and graduated from the Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo (Lanlate Campus) now Oyo State College of Education in 2019.
During his college days, Comrade Taderi served as the Deputy Speaker for the 2016/2017 academic session and later as the Students Union General Secretary (2017/2018 Session).
He is presently a 300-level student at the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
