About University of Benin (UNIBEN)

The institution was provisionally established as a federal university until it was transferred to state ownership in 1971 to the authority of Edo State (defunct Bendel State).

UNIBEN Post UTME: All You Need To Know
UNIBEN Admission Requirements

The UNIBEN admission requirements and procedures of the University of Benin changes time to time as new guidelines and deadlines for the UNIBEN Post UTME is subjected to change.

Nonetheless, the current UNIBEN admission requirements are analyzed bellow:

  • Interested applicants must have participated in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and obtained 200 marks and above.
  • UNIBEN applicants are required to possess at least 5 O’Level credit passes at no more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or its equivalent. English Language, Mathematics (as required by your course choice) and three (3) or four (4) other relevant subjects.
  • The applicant’s subject combination must be in alignment with the subjects registered in JAMB

How to apply for UNIBEN Post UTME

Having met the UNIBEN Post UTME requirements mentioned above, the application procedure is explained below:

  • Using a browser, visit the University portal @ uniben.edu.ng
  • On the portal, open the WAEUP student portal.
  • At the left hand side (top) of the page, select “Register for application
  • Enter your surname, and JAMB registration number as contained in your JAMB registration slip to see your password and ID on the browser.
  • Proceed to the WAEUP KOFA student portal to log in with your username and password.
  • By clicking the “Application record” link, provide all required information and your passport photograph in a red background for upload.

The payment of the Post UTME fees is to proceed this process.

The University of Benin Post UTME application form costs a sum of Two Thousand Naira only which can be paid using a valid ATM-Enabled card from Nigeria banks.

How to Calculate UNIBEN Post UTME aggregate Score

The aggregate score of UNIBEN is calculated by the percentage  of Jamb score and the Post UTME examination score.

  • Post UTME divided by 2 equals 50%
  • JAMB score divided by 2 equals 50%
  • Addition of both makes the aggregate score.
