The Obafemi Awolowo University Students Union Election has produced the emergence of Ojo Abbas Akinremi popularly known as Lordfem as the president of the Great Ife Students’ Union.
The election, which was held across the 13 faculties of the institution on Thursday, saw Lordfem defeat his closest rival, Abiola Oluwasegun Pka Legbeti, with over 1500 votes.
Lordfem, a native of Gbongan, Osun State, who was admitted to the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 2018, is the current President of the Nigerian Association of Agricultural Students, Faculty of Agriculture.

Meanwhile, Taiwo Asiwaju politically nicknamed Legend who gained popularity in the build-up to the election has been defeated at the polls.
Legend had contested the Public Relations Office seat against two other contenders and fell short to Omisore Elijah, aka H2O, who pulled 3608 votes ahead of Legend’s 2591 votes.

Among other central executive positions keenly contested was the Director of Socials and Culture position.
Moses Oyebamiji aka Coweb pulled 4064 votes to defeat his rivals Ogunbiyi Isaac Olajide (OAU parrot) and Gorgeous who pulled 3138 and 303 votes repectively.
Meanwhile, in a press release on Friday, Abidigun Ayomide, popularly known as ‘exceptional’, congratulated the newly elected executives.
While charging them to uphold the creed of service and responsibility in taking the union to greater levels, he assured them of his commitment to contributing to the development of the union.
