    University of Ibadan Direct Entry Requirements 2025

    UI Admission Requirements 2025 – UTME

    Below are the general admission requirements for UTME candidates:

    • Candidates must have at least five (5) O-level credit grades in five courses, including English and mathematics. This could be a WAEC, NECO, GED, or other result of equivalent worth.
    • During JAMB registration, candidates must select the University of Ibadan as their top choice of school. While offering admission, UI does not take second-choice applicants into account.
    • Applicants must select the University of Ibadan’s recommended subject combinations for their courses in the JAMB UTME and the university’s post-UTME.
    • To be eligible for the UI post-UTME exam, candidates must receive a score of at least 200 on the JAMB UTME.
    • To be admitted, applicants must purchase the university’s post-UTME form, sit for the examination, and perform exceptionally well.
    • Applicants must also meet the departmental cutoff mark for the programme for the year to be admitted to the University of Ibadan (UI). Students who don’t reach UI’s annual cutoff point will not be able to get on the university’s merit admission list.
    • Important Information: UI accepts results from two sittings for several university courses. Please review this page to learn how to combine your WAEC and NECO scores for admission.

    Other Requirements for Admission into the University of Ibadan (UI)

    For the following faculties, UI does not accept results from two sittings;

    • College of Medicine
    • Basic Medical Sciences;
    • Clinical Sciences;
    • Dentistry;
    • Public Health;
    • Pharmacy

    In contrast, candidates must have received at least 5 (five) O’level credits in a single sitting for the courses mentioned above.

    Therefore, individuals seeking admission to the University of Iowa must have five credits at one sitting or six credits at two sittings to pursue Agriculture and Forestry, Arts, Education courses, Law, Science, Technology, Social Sciences, or Veterinary Medicine.

    University of Ibadan Direct Entry Requirements 2025

    The University of Ibadan’s (UI) direct entrance admission requirements are shown below:

    • Candidates for direct entry must have obtained at least five (5) credit grades in five courses, including English and mathematics, in their O’level examination(s). This could be a WAEC, NECO, GED, or other result of equal value.
    • Holders of an HND are required to have at least upper credit in a relevant discipline.
    • OND holders require a minimum of upper credit in a relevant discipline.
    • A-level passes are required for A-level applicants.
    • Candidates for the NCE are required to have a minimum of two passes in a pertinent discipline.
    • Before they are permitted to submit their biodata, SSCE/NECO/O’L, GCE A’L, and NCE/ND/HND results on the UI portal, Direct Entry candidates must select the University of Ibadan as their top choice of university.
