    Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic Hosts NBTE Accreditation Team

    Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic Hosts NBTE Team for Accreditation Exercise

    Campus 360 reports that the Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa (AOPE) on Friday hosted a team from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for an accreditation exercise in the institution.

    The Visit, which is the second of it’s kind in two years is crucial for ensuring that the institution’s programs meet national educational standards.

    In his opening remarks, the Acting Rector of the institution, Dr. Gbade Akinteye highlighted the significance of the accreditation.

    He expressed gratitude to the NBTE executive board for facilitating the exercise and acknowledged the efforts of Dr. Fatimah Kabir, Director of Polytechnic Programs, in coordinating the visit despite challenges. Dr. Akinteye also extended his appreciation to all resource persons involved.

    Representing the institution’s Governing Council, Elder Johnson Oladele welcomed the NBTE team and thanked the staff for their dedication in preparing for the event.

    Dr. Fatimah Kabir, NBTE Director of Polytechnic Programs, thanked the Management for working towards ensuring the accreditation exercise is put into place. She also extended her appreciation to the Oyo State government for its support in facilitating the accreditation.

    Fatimah outlined the team’s mission and encouraged the institution to provide the necessary resources to ensure a successful evaluation.

    The Director of the South West Zone, Elder Ayo Aroge who was represented by Dr. John Onyebuchi, noted that physical accreditations would cease by March 31, 2025, emphasizing the need for AOPE to establish a National Skills Qualification (NSQ) center to benefit students, staff, and external stakeholders.

    Following the opening session, department heads accompanied the NBTE team to their respective areas to commence the accreditation process.

    Other notable attendees included Mr. Akande Bamidele, representing the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, and NBTE staff responsible for accrediting various courses.
